Freelance research & report writing (contract, project based)

We’re looking for a freelance researcher for project-based work. This could be a good fit for a student or recent graduate who enjoys digging into questions, finding information that isn’t immediately obvious, and making sense of what they find.

You should be comfortable working independently, evaluating sources, and writing in a clear, helpful tone.

Responsibilities

  • Research specific business and technology topics based on a clear brief

  • Dig beyond obvious search results and AI answers to find relevant, less accessible information

  • Evaluate sources and connect information from multiple sources

  • Synthesize findings into clear, well-structured writing

  • Fact-check and verify information before submitting

What we’re looking for

  • Naturally curious and thorough

  • Good judgment when evaluating sources

  • Able to communicate clearly in writing

  • Able to build logical, evidence-based arguments

  • Able to create simple graphs and charts when those are helpful for communication

  • Speak truths, even when it’s inconvenient

Rate

Starting at $35 CAD/hour, with opportunities for rate increases based on performance.
